Mommy Needs a Break

From Sick Kids

This has been the scene in our house for the past week.
(cozy up on the couch eating our soup and sandwiches, calling for mom, every second)

It all started on Wednesday afternon. Daxton started coughing before his wrestling practice. I thought "oh great, here we go" we go to pratice, and I am watching him with an aching heart, as he wrestles with all his strength, the whole time trying to be brave and not cry, because he can't breath and feels horrible. It was all I could do to not run out and stop him from wrestling. If daddy hadn't been there I probably would have. Thursday morning, I wake up running a fever and really dizzy, pain in my back and stomach. I was trying to lay on the bed and not move, for fear that I would puke. Then I hear Daxton crying and wheezing trying to get air. I force myself to get up and take him into the bathroom to run the shower with steam to help him breath. Sitting on the floor, holding him, trying not to pass out. I try my best to take care of Dax and Aty, most the morning. While Jayson is busy working. By 12:00, I am so sick, I beg Jayson to get Aty to sleep, so I can rest. He does, and She and I, sleep for a bit. I wake up and feel awful, I have a history of kidney infections, so I think I better call the Dr. I go in and they do some test. They say that my white blood cell count is way to high, and he is worried that I might have an appendicitis. "What?" I ask. There is no way.  I am thinking I would be in way more pain in my stomach and not my back. He is sure because of my white blood count, and some of my symptoms, that it has to be.  I finally talk him out of sending me straight over to the surgeon ready to rip my appendix out. He puts me on meds for a kidney infection and make me promise, I will go to the emergency room if I get worse. I go home, kinda nervous." We have No insurance, I don't have time for this, Dax is sick, Jayson is working, What am I going to do"?  I just pray that I am ok through the night. I make it! He has me come back the next day for a blood test again to see if my count has gone down, it has a little. So I am free to go home. Still not really sure what it wrong with me.
MEANWHILE..
I am doing my best to take care of Dax, Aty and Myself. Daxton continues to get worse. The meds I am on, are making me way sick. And by Saturday, I am thinking we need to take Dax to the Doctor. I make him an appt, but then I am way too sick to take him. So we wait another day, thinking he might be better, but No! He is still coughing like crazy and so miserable! So I take him in on Sunday, get him some meds, and the Dr has me get my blood taken again. My count is normal. Still not sure what I have. He prescribes me new meds, and we go home.
Sunday night, Tregan starts complaining of a fever, and Aty is coughing more. "Oh My Gosh! Can I get a break Please?!!"

So here we are Tuesday afternoon, Daxton has finally gone back to school today, but not without tearing my heart apart. He was crying all morning, because he still feels crappy, and doesn't want to go. So I have to be Mean Mom, and telll him he Has to go. He has missed too many day. Here I sit worried sick about him now, wishing I would have just let him stay home. Stupid School anyway.. And
 Stupid Sickness!!

Day #8, Daddy, Aty and Tregan are sick, mom is on the mend.

Poor Aty got pushed out of her space while the boys have been home hogging the couch and her play areas. She has been getting into all sorts of mischief, while I have been trying to take care of sickies, and myself.

It's a good thing my little snow white, is so darn cute!

Time To Wrestle

The boys were in a Wrestling camp this week. They had practice every night this week, and then the big tournament on Saturday. Daxton ended up getting sick with a bad cough on Wednesday. So he didn't feel good enough to go anymore. So he just went and watched Tregan. He was a little dissapointed, but he felt too sick to really care. I was very bummed, because he was doing so well at practice, taking everyone down. I knew he would have done awesome at the tournament.
Dax, Tregan, and their cousin Zack

The Wrestling room was so packed with kids and parents. So their are lots of legs in my pics.

Tregan did Awesome! I was so proud of him. He was alot more agressive this year then last. He pinned everyone he wrestled. The last kid he fought was tough, and so he ended up getting beat on the final round.
(otherwise he would have won 1st place)

He won 2nd Place!

Saturday

Tregan had his very first Basketball Game bright and early at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
He is playing on the Jr Jazz team. He was So excited!
(doesn't he look so cute?)

He was very nervous before we got there. But he did Awesome! Even better then I expected. I was really surprised actually. He is so timid, and non aggressive. When he told me he wanted to play basketball this year. I was a little surprised, I wasn't sure if he was aggressive enough. But he played really good. He even made a point for the team. YAY!!

I didn't get any real great pictures, I was messing with all the settings on my camera, and trying to keep Aty occupied, so I got lots of fuzzy ones. Hopefully I can get some better ones at his next game.

Aty got a little bored watching the game after  bit, and started to wander.

After the game, and a quick stop at Krispy Kreme for donuts. Because Jayson insisted that was what boys do after the game. lol! I had suggested that we run to Costco. Since we had started our day so early. Which by the way, we never go anywhere before 8:30. So this was a huge accomplishment for us. So on our way to Ogden, we remembered that we had been wanting to go to the museum at Hill Airforce Base, we had tried to go a few weeks ago, but it was closed. So since we were heading that way, and it was only like 10:00 by then, we had plenty of time.

The planes are so Huge! My kids look so Tiny next to them.

I don't know the name of any of these planes. Jayson would be so dissapointed in me. Sorry honey! But They were really cool. The boys had a blast. Especially Jayson..

Aty was getting very tired, and she had not eaten much since she woke up, so she had a minor meltdown. I took her back to the car and gave her a donut.

As you can see, the donut was all she needed. She is all smiles now!

Tregan has been really into helping with Aty lately. He is always wanting to carry her. And she loves it. I love this picture of them. So Sweet!

Jayson was trying to get her to show us her signature face. She pulls this face whenever someone takes something she thinks is hers, or tries to play with a toy she has. She started it one day when a neighbor tried to sit on her swing. And now she is always doing it.

Squeezes

This was a chair they had inside the museum. It was one of the seats from the planes.

Daxy really liked posing in this. We got a few of him making dead faces. Not sure why he was doing that. (such a ham)

The A-10
Jayson' favorite plane

They had these little planes, that we had seen earlier. They were behind the ropes with the big planes. Aty had tried to climb under the rope to get them. Later on, Aty and I were in the restroom, and Tregan was waiting outside for us. I heard this man talking to Tregan. I was kinda panicking, thinking " I shouldn't have left him out there alone, now that man is going to kidnap him" I was hurrying to get out the door to him, and there he sat on the bench with this older man, who I found, worked there. (hahah oops, paranoid mom) When the man saw Aty he asked if she wanted to sit in the planes. Yay! So he gave her a ride.

She didn't really know what to think. I think she was nervous that this stranger was pushing her around in this plane. I was bummed because Jayson and Dax were somewhere else in the museum and they didn't make it back to us to see her. And Jayson had my camera. So I had to take these pics with my phone.

After she rode in this one, I tried to get her out, and she didn't want to. The man kept saying how it was time for him to go to lunch. So I had to pull her out.

Two hours later, we left the museum. Aty was exhausted and we still had to go to Costco. This is right before we left. Tregan was carrying her around and set her on the Toilet paper, she layed right down. I think she may have taken a nap there if we would have let her. Poor baby!

That was the end of our outings for the day. What started as just an early morning basketball game, sure turned into an eventful day. Jayson and I joked how It was a amazing the things you can get done when you get outta bed before 9 on a saturday. (haha)

Dax and Tregan were wrestling that evening, and Tregan yells " I just punched Daxton in the face and now his tooth is loose."  Um nice! at first I was mad because I thought it was his permanent tooth. Silly mom, he hadn't lost his other top tooth yet. I had lost track. Good thing though! So now Dax has the cute toothless grin.  Now he can sing " All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" (well sorta, his one tooth is already coming in) I always think of that song when my kids loose their front tooth. haha!

This Little Girl...

Does not like to go to bed at night...

After two hours of trying to get her to settle down and go to sleep. I am laying half asleep on my bed, I see her pulling clothes out of my drawers, not really paying attention to what she is doing. Because by now, it is after 11:00 and I am So Tired! I finally look to see what she is up to, and this is what I find....

She has busily managed to pull out almost everyone of my tank tops and sports bras, and put them around her neck. She is buried up to her mouth now.. (Seriously) "not tired yet?"

She then proceeds to take them off one by one, with a little help with the ones that get stuck, of course.

Think she is done? NO, she then starts on my bras

And socks, of course!
Oh how I miss my sleep! Why oh Why, does she have to be so energetic at night? She has been this way since she was little tiny. When we were living in Az and Jayson was working nights at Home Depot, I would sit up until 10 or 11 with her every night trying to get her to fall asleep. The boys have been in bed for hours, and she gets a second wind and wants to explore and play. UGH! It is getting old. When she does finally fall asleep, does she stay in her bed you ask?  Oh no, she wakes up between 4 and 6 a.m. and then she ends up in our bed, snuggled up, and kicking us in the back.
I am so tempted to just put her in her room and shut the door. But I am not ready to handle the  hours of screaming that would pursue.  So for now, I guess I get to sit up for hours and watch Cake Boss and 19 kids and counting, and little people. and L.A. Ink... Yes I am a huge TLC fan. lol! And wait for my little baby to get tired. Someday I will get some sleep again.....

Halloween

My Little SnowWhite

The Zombie, and The Mummy

This was Aty before we went Trick or Treating. (Aww two year olds! love the tantrums)

Aty Loved Trick or Treating. I think she enjoyed it more then my boys. Once we finally got her dressed, and settled down. She couldn't wait, to get outside with her bag. She would follow the boys up to the doors and say "Tick Teat" and then "Thank You, Bye" It was raining and cold, I was only going to take her to a couple of houses, but she would not go home. Once we did get home, every time the doorbell would ring, she would run to the door with her bag. Thinking that she was going to get more treats. She finally figured it out after a few times, and then she just had to help give out the treats, and then she would say "Bye and shut the door on them.

Tregan and the pumpkins. Which by the way, I ended up carving by myself. Because the boys lost interest. Real fun!

I took this the day before Halloween, she was loving her dress then.

The neighbors all have a traditional neighborhood kid halloween party. I volunteered to do it at our house this year. So I dressed up as a witch for the event.

We bobbed for apples, had an eyeball relay, played bingo, and ate candy, and cookies, and drank a spooky potion. The kids had lots of fun.

Sunny Crockett and his Fan
After our Kid Halloween Party on Friday afternoon, We had an Adult Party that evening. The theme was 80's. Jayson HAD to be Sunny Crocket from Miami Vice. He was set on a white suit. And I would not let him buy a new one. Because Seriously? He would never wear it again. So we checked the D.I. and Savers and we found him a brown suit, and tried to dye it white, but it didn't work. So we found him some white linen pants. hehe, and he wore the infamous pink polo. And of course had the gun and badge to go along with it. I was surprised to find my acid washed pants at Ross. Who would by these? A little ratting of the hair, lots of hairspray, and a headband to top it off, and here we are. So ugly! lol! I can't believe these styles are coming back. I definitely will not be wearing them. Except for maybe the hair. Isn't it hot? haha!
