Rapunzel Hair is gone!

Well, I finally broke down and got Atley's haircut. She is no longer "Punzel."

I was just so tired of trying to comb through the snarls everyday, with her screaming. She was actually really excited! She was being silly the whole time we were there, pulling funny faces and stuff.

The Before Picture
Getting it washed
Being Silly!

Here we Go..
No turning back now!

4 Inches off!
Getting it all curled!
All done!

She jumped off the chair, looked down and saw all her hair laying on the ground. She went over and picked it up and was looking at it, all sad. Then she just dropped it on the ground. She didn't even say anything. It was kinda funny!

Here is the back!
She likes it. It looks a lot healthier now and no more snarls. YAY!
Now when I tell her it is time to comb her hair she says "No, I cut it!" She thinks it does not need to be combed now, because I kept telling her when it was long and snarly, that we were going to just cut it so it was not so snarly. So, she got it in her head that meant, she did not ever have to get is combed again.
I struggle some days now, trying to figure out how to style it now though. It is just nice being able to comb it, with no crying!

A few weeks after her haircut, I was driving up to Logan to get my haircut. I got thinking about her hair, and how maybe I should get my hair cut a little bit. I have been growing my hair out for a few years now. I have always been one to cut it short, every time I would go to the stylist. In highschool, I had really long hair. By the time I met Jayson in college, it was short and layered. It has been short and some sort of layered style, our whole marriage. Jayson prefers it long, so he has begged me for years to grow it out. So I finally gave in, a few years ago. Just getting trims, when necessary.
I was getting kinda sick of my style lately,  so I thought "Aty's is cute, maybe I should just cut a little off of mine. So I did. And now, I am not too happy, with my decision.  I do not like it much!
I am hoping it grows fast. As Jayson likes to tell me "You should just listen to me!"
Well that only applies to haircuts. Because otherwise, I know it all, and he needs to listen to me! Ha!

ELEVEN

Tregan turned 11, on June 5th. I am just now, kind of accepting this fact. It was a hard one for me. It just means he is that much closer to being 12. He is now in "Big Boy Scouts" And he will be able to go to overnight camps. WHAT??
He has grown so much! He is pretty mellow, most of the time. He Still, LOVES to play video games. I can tell he is getting closer to the teenage days. He is just content to hang out! He prefers to be in the house, watching a movie or playing video games, or even just sitting with Jayson and I. And talking and stuff. He is such a good big brother to Aty! I think I probably say this a lot. But he really is! He is so protective of her, and just loves, loves her. He and Dax are kind of in a stage right now, so they don't get along most of the time. Well, maybe like 40% of the time. Tregan is in that phase where he thinks younger kids do dumb, silly stuff. So he teases Dax a lot!
He played basketball for the second year. But he didn't like it as much this year, as the last. He chose not to play baseball, in the spring this year. He decided he wants to try soccer this year. He played it alot at school, and has come to like it.  I started him in piano lessons a couple of months ago. His friends mom teaches. He is not sure if he likes it or not. But she tells me, that he has caught on really quickly. We are hoping he has his daddad's(Jayson's dad) talent with music.

Breakfast in Bed!
When my boys were little, I started a tradition where I would decorate the house and their bedroom, the night before. Then they get breakfast in bed, the morning of. This past couple of years, I have thought maybe I could stop doing that! At least all the decorating. Since they are getting older and all. But NO, Tregan totally expects it. He is funny, he will ask me specifically the night before if I have decorations. This year was no different. He had only been awake a few minutes, when he disappeared into my bedroom and got himself all propped up, waiting for his breakfast! Guess he thought he got Extra Special treatment this year, since he wanted it, in my bed.
If anyone gets breakfast in bed, then Aty thinks she gets it too. Aty and Dax, joined Tregan in my bed for breakfast, as well.

All day, Aty thought it was her birthday, and wanted to open the presents.
Tregan was a good sport and let her help him. I love her face in this picture,
she is So excited for his gift!

This year was a hard one for us, trying to think of something to get him.  He did not give me hardly any ideas. Well except an IPod Touch. Which Jayson replied "No Way!"
So we had to get creative.

I got him his favorites.
Snickers and Taki's

I let Jayson decide on his big present. He chose an Air Soft Gun!

This year, he did not have a friend party. We just celebrated as a family.  Jayson decided to take the day off. We all went to a place called, GET AIR. It is a trampoline place. We had a BLAST! Even Jayson and I, were jumping with the kids. It was not very busy, so we had lots of space to play together. We had races up and down the inclines of the tramps. and we played dodgeball.
Well, we all dodged while Jayson attacked us with the balls!

They have this pit you can jump into. It is full of Styrofoam blocks. And it is hard to climb out of. I know this because, I got stuck in them. I woke up with a really sore back that morning, so it hurt to move much. The boys and Jayson, begged me to jump in to these with them. And would not take no for an answer. So I did it!  My feet sunk clear down and I could not maneuver my body enough without hurting, to get myself out. Jayson was just standing there laughing at me, and Dax came to the rescue. Unfortunately, Dax was not strong enough to pull me out. By this time, I am laughing so hard I cannot do anything,
Finally, Jayson comes and helps me out.
 It was so embarrassing!

They had all these other Trampolines, that ran from one side of the wall to the other. Aty found out she liked to slide down from the top. By the end of our play time, Jayson, the boys and I, were all racing from the top of one side, to the other. Sliding down. Jayson cheated though and he would bounce across, instead of running. So he always won. He almost fell a few times though, so that was funny!

Tregan chose to eat at Dave's Barbeque.
So we went there and then headed home for cake and ice cream.

He wanted a soccer ball cake, this year. Which sounded alot easier to make, then it was.
It was not my best cake! The shapes I cut out did not fit really great, on the shape of the cake.
I should have used more round shaped, pans. Oh well! It was just for family.
And he was happy with it.

Blowing out the candles

Aty had to take a turn blowing out the candles too. We even sang her happy birthday!
She is so spoiled!

Another year gone by!
I hope this one goes by slower!

Summer Starts off with a bang!

The first week of Summer started off with a bang, at our house! No Literally! Our week started out with the Celebration of Tregan's birthday, and dental checkup for all three kids. And turned out to be two dentist visits and a doctor visit.

We celebrated Tregan's birthday on Tuesday, Went to our dental checkups on Wednesday. No cavities for all! YAY! See you in 6 months.  Later that evening, Dax was out playing with some friends, One of their mom's, was challenging the boys to do 15 burpees. If you don't know what those are, they are an exercise where you jump up in the air and then go down on the ground and do kind of a pushup and then jump back up! (kinda hard to explain) Anyway.. So they proceed to do these in THE ROAD! I am watching them, and suggest maybe they should go on the grass, as I notice one of his friends looking at his hands and seeing the rocks and such, on them. A few seconds later, all three of the boys go running off, to where I assume, is to play hide and seek. A few minutes later, Tregan comes outside and tells me that Daxton is in the house and he has chipped and loose teeth.  I go inside to see. After examing his teeth, I find none of them to be loose, and no blood! Thank goodness! But he did indeed, chip three of this front teeth! YIKES! It is after 5:00 so the dentist office is now closed! But, I remember that the answering machine has the dentist's cell number. So I call and get the number. Thankfully, he is my cousin. So It is not too incredibly awkward, calling him after hours.
He asks me to text him a picture of Dax's teeth.

Here is the picture I sent him
The two front ones and the bottom left one, are chipped
Cam the dentist, calls me back after getting the picture and says " most times when the parents tell me their child has chipped a bunch of  teeth, they are exaggerating and it is only like one tooth, but you were not exaggerating!" That did not make me feel better. So he tells me he thinks they look like they are ok, as far as the damage level. He says it looks like they broke through just two layers, instead of three. He is not working on Thursday, so to call and get him in, on Friday,.  He will have to build them up and try and fix them, as best as he can. Oh, and to give Dax ibuprofen because he will be in pain! By then, I am starting to kinda panic, and worry. What is going to happen? Is he going to look ok? My mom assures me " well at least he didn't knock his teeth out!" True! But still, it is his front teeth. And he has the best teeth in our family!

Later on that night, Dax starts complaining of his throat hurting. Which he had mentioned off and on, the past few days. I then realize, that Dax only complains, when he is Really sick. Which most all times, is when he gets strep throat! I knew I had to get him into the doctor. So I called and got him an appointment,  the next day. Poor kid, was in so much pain with his teeth and his throat the next morning. He was being so brave, though! Of my three kids, Dax is my one who never complains when he is sick. In fact, he hardly ever complains about anything, really. I think he must have the highest pain tolerance! So, we go to the doctor, and sure enough, he has strep throat! We get his meds and he rests and hangs out the rest of the day.

Friday morning, it is back to the dentist! The dentist and his staff, were all asking him how he did it. Dax was too embarrassed, to tell the story. He asked me to tell them.  They all teased him, about working on his muscles, and trying to kiss his girlfriend while he was doing it.
We had to wait a little bit, while they fit him in between patients. I think he ended up laying in the chair breathing the gas, for like a half hour. Luckily Dr Cam, let Tregan, Aty and I, hang out in the rooms where they sedate little kids and watch movies on the big beanbag. Two hours later, he was done.

Here is the after picture
Looks pretty good right?
Thank Heavens!
Don't mind the little wart on his nose! Stupid thing keeps coming back.
He has had it frozen twice now!

So, what started out as a pretty low key week, ended up being pretty exciting!

Carnival

My cousin is a pediatric dentist. His office is in Ogden. We found him and started going to him, when we moved back to Utah, a few years ago. Almost three years ago now! CRAZY! We just had our two year anniversary of living in this house, in Layton. Time has flown by! Anyway...  He is amazing with kids! And so, so, nice! So, I find out that he puts on this annual carnival for all his patients every year. And it happened to be on the last day of school this year. What Fun! We had to go and check it out!

Getting Suited up to Sumo Wrestle!

After Wrestling
They each won, one round

Baby Horse!
Aty loved him

Riding The horsey's!
Her favorite part! She did it twice and would have done it more,
if I would have let her

The Moose
She was terrified of this guy. (when she first saw him) She kept seeing him around, while we were there. Finally, after a while, she was looking for him, and saying she wanted to see him. She was so brave and stood by him for a picture. I love how she is bending away, so he does not touch her.
(I found out later, that he was my cousins son)

The Rock Wall
If you can climb to the top and ring the bell, you win 10 tickets.
Both Treg and Dax made it! YAY!

Face Painting
Dax got a scorpion

Aty got a butterfly
The people that were there doing these, were really good. They sponged on the color and then freehanded the design. They were the best ones I have seen. You cannot see in the picture, but aty's even had glitter all over it. So cute! She was grinning!

They also had a couple bouncy houses, and lots of games you could play and win tickets. And a "Dunk the Dentist" tank. Tregan could not wait to get in line, to dunk Dr . Cam! He did too!
We even got tickets for free food, for each person. It was a slice of pizza, cookie, and a drink.
Everything was free! It was all to benefit Primary Childrens Hospital. So you could buy more tickets to help donate to them, if you wanted.
The kids had So Much Fun! And I had fun, watching them. I also got to see alot of my cousins, I have not seen for years.
Oh and the highlight of the day, (according to Tregan) was that he got his name drawn for the final prize which was a... Nintendo 3DS! He was so stinking excited! I did not even hear them call his name, I was talking to my uncle and he came running to me. His Birthday was three days later, so I tried to tell him it was his birthday present. haha!
Dax was a little sad and jealous, but I told them they had to share.

Such a fun way to end the school year, and start off the summer!
Can't  wait, to go back next year!

Airplanes..

The weekend before, the last week of school, Hill Air Force Base, had an AIR SHOW! It was a rainy weekend. We wanted to take the kids on Saturday, but it had been raining all morning, so we figured it had been cancelled. But later in the afternoon, we heard some jets flying by our house, we ran outside to see. Looked like the show was on!  So, we all ran to the car and drove over to see if we could get in. We did! It was way fun! They had lots of airplanes and hummers, the kids could climb up in and see. And, we got there in time to see the ThunderBirds Fly! (My favorite part by far!)

Right as they passed each other

The Thunderbirds!
(Amazing!)

Tregan's Favorite plane!

Some weapons!

Driving the Hummer

Checking out the cockpit of the plane
We had so much fun, we decided to go back the next day, the weather was cold and rainy again, so we waited it out, we got there at the end.  In time to see the Thunderbirds fly again! Which was fine by me! They are so Amazing to watch! I cannot wait, to see another Airshow again! Good times!

Tregan's presentation

For 4th grade, They learn about Utah and all the Counties. The students are all assigned a County to research. Tregan chose to do Cache County! He chose to do the Scrapbook, which involved going to Cache County and visiting different historical sites and taking pictures of them.  I had an appointment up there one day, so I took all the kids with me and left Dax and Aty with Grandma.  Tregan and I went for a tour of Cache County! I actually learned a lot of things, I did not know!
He had fun as well. In class, they did all the research and each student had to make a powerpoint presentation about their county. They also made salt dough maps. (in picture above)
The last week of school, The parents were all invited to come and see their presentations. All the fourth grade classes, also put on a little UTAH program. They sang songs about Utah, told us facts, and even played their Recorders, (they have been learning how to play this year)
It was really good! They did such a GREAT job! I loved watching how uncomfortable Tregan was! (haha) mean, I know! But, he is so much like his dad! He looked so uncomfortable standing up there on stage, and I Know he Really hated, that I was recording it all as well!  It just so happened that it was on the same day as Aty's dance recital. So my mom was able to come down early in the day and watch him, as well!

Here he is sitting in his class, showing all the parents his display.

Playing the recorders

Looking all cute in his western bandana!

The next week was all fun and games until the last day!
Here are the boys ,before they left for school on the last day! Holding their teacher gifts. As you can see, Tregan was not happy! (I think he was feeling a little emotional about it being the last day, and missing his friends, which is weird, because he is my one, who hates school!)
