Holiday Catch Up

Its been a while since I have posted. We made it through the long, cold, dreary winter. Spring is kind of peeking it's way in. I can't wait for the sun to come and stay!

We had a fun Christmas this year. The boys are getting older and starting to ask for bigger presents. No toys this year. (sniff) Tregan wanted an ipod touch. Dax wanted football gloves. Aty wanted, well everything she saw really! This was the first year she was brave enough to sit on santa's lap. And she had to do it everywhere we went. After three different visits to see Santa. I had to put my foot down and say "That is enough visits now!"  She told them all the same thing though "I want a dreamlite and stompies" only she can't pronounce stompies right, it sounds more like Zombies. Jayson would tease her and she would get so mad!

Santa came through for us and they all got what they wanted.

He is hoping so bad, it is an Ipod!
Funny story about this. I ordered this Ipod from the Apple store, It did not arrive when it was supposed to. So after some researching, I was told it had been safely delivered and signed for, at my address. WHAT?? No it had not! So after about 24 hours of sheer panic and many phone calls. Checking with all the neighbors and calling UPS over and over. Turns out, the delivery guy gave it to the neighbors across the street. The new neighbors, that I did not know. And, who seemed to be out of town! I was dying! I did not know how I was going to be able to find it, or even replace it. After many inquiries and good friends. I got a hold of the neighbors and the husband came home and brought it to me. PHEW! That was close. Tregan about had the worst Christmas ever!

Aty got a Doll House!

Santa even set up her princess dolls in it, for her.
I may have been a little more excited for this present, then her.

Dream Lite!

Dax inherited Jayson's old Ipod. We decided he was not old enough for an Ipod touch, yet.
He got some Awesome new headphones, for it too.
He carries that thing, everywhere he goes now. Aty is always trying to talk to him in the car. He sits in the back behind her, so she cant see him. He always has his headphones on, so he can't hear her. So she always says "Daxy's asleep!" Haha!

The boys both got, Heely Shoes as well. They had to follow clues around the house to find both the shoes. Tregan found one of them, in the bathtub.

Jayson wanted this big Marine Knife really bad. He always spoils his presents every year by guessing them. So Tregan and I decided to play a trick on him. We used the box it came in, and filled it full of oranges. Then we wrapped the knife in a big shoe box. so when he opened the knife box excpecting to get a knife, he got oranges. He did not find it too humorous! Tregan did though!
We had decided to get new couches for Christmas this year. So we said no presents, for each other.  We didn't follow that rule apparently though.  Jayson got me a Samsung tablet. I was SO surprised and excited! He also got me a Juicer.
We were not able to get the couches in time for Christmas though. We just picked them up a few weeks ago. It is so nice to have nice, comfy, clean couches!

Three days after Christmas, I had surgery again! I had a laparascopy done to remove my endometriosis. I am hoping two times is the charm! Because I am Not doing it again!

The boys are having a good year in school  They both have really good teachers. Tregan was blessed with an Amazing teacher. She is a lady in our ward . And she has a been a huge blessing, in Tregan's and my, life. I wish she could move up with him next year.

The winter went by, we shoveled loads of snow. We had one day with a terrible ice storm. Our driveway was an ice rink. It already had some snow and ice on it and then when the freezing rain hit it is was a solid sheet about 4 or 5 inches thick. My poor preschoolers, were slipping all over the place and falling just trying to get to their parents cars. I was trying to hold them all up and not fall, myself.  Jayson was in Arizona that week, he was supposed to be flying home that day. The airport was closed down, so his flight was delayed two more days. We were so sad. Tregan and I, had to try and melt and chop away, at the ice. So I could at least drive the car in and out of the garage without slipping and getting stuck. It was so awful! So many people fell and got hurt that day.

Tregan had his Maturation program at school that day.( I know I can't believe he is getting that old!)
I was a nervous wreck, trying to get into the school  without falling and slipping and getting my own kids out of the school safely, as well. I was so worried about all those little kids falling.

Teaching Preschool, continues to keep me very busy. As well as volunteering at the school on my day off.
Jayson is still working two jobs. Appraising continues to be up and down. It is a hard career to live on.

Daxton played basketball for Kaysville this year. It is his first year playing for them rather then Layton. He has became a really good player. His team however, was not real great. So it was him and  two other boys running the show. Unfortuntely, one boy was a  ball hog, and not a good shot. So, they did not win many games. They did however, redeem themselves in their very last game. Winning 22-9. And it just so happens, that at the very last second before the time ran out, Dax threw the ball from way far off the side of the court, and made the shot! WAHOO!! Such a Stud!

And now I am caught up! On to more adventures, in the Spring!

No More Tonsils

The day Dax has been anxiously awaiting finally arrived! Tonsillectomy Day!  He has been so miserable with strep throat these past few years. And snoring and stinky breath. (haha) He was very eager to get his tonsils out. He was So excited the night before. I kept asking him if he was nervous and he would say "No" He was excited to have all the ice cream and popsicles he wanted. I tried to kind of prepare him for the not fun parts. But he still didn't seem persuaded in anyway.
Here are his Before Pictures
Can't wait to get it done!

He was bored waiting around at the surgical center, waiting for his turn. It was alot of waiting. At one point, he and I were playing football with his little stuffed animal they gave him.  They finally came and took him back. Jayson and I waited...
20 minutes later, the doctor came and told us he was done. He had done great! He was in recovery for a little bit, then we could go see him. I was so relieved! So no sooner had we sat back down in the waiting room, then I hear a loud, terrified sounding scream! I immediately knew it was Daxton. My mommy protective mode kicked in. I went and opened the door to the recovery room debating whether I dare run back and find him. Or whether that would make me a" CRAZY MOM." I knew it probably wouldn't be great of me to start pulling peoples curtains back frantically looking for Dax. I went back to Jayson with tears running down my cheeks. So worried. He told me he would be ok, they will give him something to calm him down. That did not comfort me much. I sat on the edge of my chair for the next, what seemed like half hour. but was probably only like 15 minutes. trying not to freak out.  The nurse finally came and got us. When we go to him, he was crying. They said he wanted to see me. Poor buddy! Talk about rip my heart out.
They told us that he had came out of surgery and his airway was blocked, so they proceeded to give him a breathing treatment. But he woke up in the middle of it and was disoriented, so he freaked out and tried to get out of bed and push them away. They had to hold him down and give him some meds to calm down. (so sad) I was very sad and upset about all that. He even had marks on his arm from where they had been squeezing his arm. I'm getting all sad again just writing about it. I know they were just doing their job, but still. They hurt him. And he was so scared!
It took him a few minutes of us being with him and comforting him until he finally calmed down and fell asleep.
After he woke up !
Eating a popsicle
Pretty sad still.
He told me "I didn't know it was going to hurt this bad"

Half hour later, watching a movie on Jayson's phone.
Feeling much better now

He recovered really well and really fast. We knew he would. He hardly even complained. Their were a couple of nights, he woke up in alot of  pain, because his medicine had worn off. But once we convinced him to take more medicine and drink some water, he was doing better. He was so worried that he wouldn't get to eat Thanksgiving dinner. We teased him, that we would have mashed potatoes and shakes for Thanksgiving. But he was fine by that day. He got to eat normal by then. He didn't enjoy it as much as he would have liked to, because he was a little sore. He was really excited that he was able to eat chips that day. He ate a ton of mashed potatoes, the days he was recovering.
In fact, I swear he ate more during his recovery, then he normall does. He was constantly asking for food. I don't know if it was because he was eating stuff that wasn't as filling, or what. But he had a hearty appetite for sure! He was ready to play by the 5th day. He wanted to be running around and playing football. But I had to keep wraps on him. He was all the way better, by the next Saturday. And ready for school. His doctor was amazed how well he did and how fast he recovered. That's our little Dax, Our Tough Little Boy!
Now, no more stinky breath and no more snoring! Hurray!

October

How is it already December? I need to catch up a little. So here is our October in a nutshell...

The kids and I, went up to  Logan to the Annual Halloween Pumpkin Patch. We also stopped and visited my dad. He had recently moved, into a retirement home up in Logan. We had dinner with him. My kids thought that was really fun, to be able to sit at a table and be served. They especially liked the ice cream for desert. When they came out with a big cart full of ice cream. Daxton's eyes grew huge! He turned to me and asked if we could come back again, Tomorrow!

Aty as a crazy looking mermaid

Jayson and I, had our Neighborhood Halloween Party! We didn't have a theme this year. So Jayson decided to wear his Scary Clown costume, that he made 4 years ago. So, I had to find a way to match him. I am not a big fan of scary clowns myself. I was trying to be a cute, sweet clown. But once I got my makeup on, I looked a bit crazy!

For Preschool, we went on a field trip to a place called Black Island Farms. We went on a hayride and picked out, our very own pumpkins.

They had big slides, you could go on.
Here are Aty and Aiden going down together.

Playing in the "Corn Box"
So much fun!

Going on a tractor ride!
I don't know which part, Aty liked the best. She was having a
blast the whole time.
The wind was blowing really bad though, so straw was blowing everywhere.
Which was kind of a Bummer! We would have stayed longer I think, if
it had not been blowing.
Still a way fun time, though!

 We carved pumpkins!

Aty was determined to have a pink pumpkin.
So she painted it.

The Finished Jack O Lanterns

We had our Preschool Halloween Party!
It was lots of Fun!

The boys wanted to be Zombies this year. So I reluctantly, let them. I am not a big fan of scary costumes, but now that my boys are older, I can't force them to be superheroes anymore. (sadly)
Aty was a Butterfly/Fairy

And that wraps up October! Now on to November....
