Summer Wrap Up!

Since Summer Break is almost over, I figured it was time to "Wrap Up" our Summer Adventures!

The boys participated in a program called Rad Kids. It is a Safety class taught by local police officers at a few of the elementary schools in town. It was free,  We just had to sign up through the city for what class we wanted and where.   They learned how to protect themselves against Strangers, how to fight off a kidnapper, and they also learned basic safety stuff. Like fire safety and bike safety.

The class was a week long. On the last day, the parents were invited to come to class and see what the kids had learned. They had one of the police officers dressed up in full armor from head to toe. Each kid got to put on protective gear and show us three scenerios of kidnapping, and use their skills they have learned in the class to fight him off.

They taught them how to kick, and poke eyes, head butt, and most of all.. SCREAM and make lots of noise, to draw attention to themselves in public. So hopefully, someone would come to the rescue.
It was fun to watch them and see all the great things they learned. Tregan and Dax were so looking forward to the last day to "Beat the guy up!"

Here they are all suited up and ready to go!

Fighting the "Kidnapper"

They had alot of fun. And learned some great stuff. I wish I could have taken the class with them.

RASH
After we got back from The Canyon in July, Tregan developed a rash. He woke up a few days later with swollen glands. I took him to the doctor and they tested him for strep, and it came back negative. So they said it was a virus and it would run its course and be better in a week. If not, then it could be mono, and he would have to come back for a blood test. He was Terrified of that! It was all he talked about for days. Saying he was getting better and he didn't need the blood test. A week later, he was better. But then a couple of days later, he woke up with a bad rash covering his arms, stomach and legs. We didn't know what to think then. Benadryl did not help! We were at the lake a few days later with friends, and a couple of the mom's were looking at him and saying it looked and sounded like Fifth's Disease. So I decided to wait it out. I looked up the symptoms and it did sound alot like it. He continued to have the rash and it continued to spread across his whole body for another week. Moving it's way down and ending at his hands. He felt fine. And even the nurse I called, said it was most likely that, and it would get better on it's own.

Aty

Aty developed a mild form of it, for a couple of days. And then it went away! It was so Strange! We were glad it didn't spread through our whole family. Jayson was dreading going to work covered in a rash!

SWIMMING
Aty Took her very first Swimming Lessons in August!
She was all excited and then on the first day, she go there and got in the water, and her teacher tells them all to put their face in the water. That was the end of that! She was not having any part of it. Eventually she got out of the water and came to me. I bribed her to jump in at the end. But she did not like it one bit! I thought maybe it was the guy teacher she had. So I talked to another older lady that was a teacher of the same age group and got her switched to her class. She did great after that!

We went to a few different water parks

This was at the Classic Fun Waterpark.
It was the last one we went to.
We have never been here before
It was pretty small. It is tucked away in the mountain.
It had three water slides, a bigger slide,(picured above)
And a kiddie area
The kids had so much Fun though!
Aty even tried out the slides a few times.
The last time she went, she rode with Tregan, and when they got to the bottom, he fell on top of her. He pulled her out, but then let her go. Luckily she had her life vest on! I had to run over and pull her out! After that, she stayed in the kiddie pool.

SLEEPY
We played lots, and slept less. So some days we fell asleep or just Chilled on the couch and watched movies

Tregan actually had a few days like this! I think he must be growing. Or entering Teenage-hood?
He was content to sit in the house and play video games or watch movies. He did not want to play with friends much!

Aty had a few meals served to her.
Apparently she thinks she is the princess of the house!
I love this picture!
Just chillin, in their underwear!

BIRTHDAYS
We celebrated mine and Jayson's Birthdays in August.
For my birthday, I got a necklace with all my kids names on it.
I chose to go on a family hike!
The boys were not happy!
It was long and hot, but we made it! Aty did Awesome too. She walked almost the whole way. I kept telling her we were going to find the Princesses in the cave, at the top. She was determined!
We ended at a waterfall. Which we all climbed under the rocks and played in!
It felt nice to cool off!
Jayson made me a cake, we came home and Aty frosted it, and we blew out candles.
 It was a fun day!
Jayson had to work all day for his birthday. When he got home, we went to see Madagascar, and came home and had cake. The kids gave him a bunch of his favorite candy and drinks.

PARK

We spend alot of days at the park. Aty's favorite is the "Castle Park"
I started a new workout group that met at the local park on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. So the boys and Aty would play, while I worked up a sweat!

She loved spinning in this.
She would scream and squeal to stop and then want to do it again.

DANCING AT THE FAIR
Aty's dance grou,p got to perform at the Davis County Fair in August. She was excited to be able to wear her Pink Dress again. She did great! She has improved a lo,t since the begining of Summer. She is getting more coordinated!
We stayed at the fair after her dance.
She got a ballon sword, and rode the horses.

CHORES
I really enjoyed having the boys home this Summer, because it meant less chores for me!

Aty even helped a time or two!
I think she was the only one having fun though!

LAGOON
Our last Big Adventure was our Lagoon Day! Jayson's work gives us free tickets to go every year. The kids were So excited! They were counting down the days for two months.
My mom had came down to stay the night before, and we took the boys school shopping. She slept over and watched Aty for the first part of the day, so we could go with the boys and go on all the big rides together. That kinda backfired though, because Tregan is not as adventurous as the rest of us. We forced him to go on a ride called Spider. It loops around and spins. He was utterly Terrified the whole time! I felt so bad for him.
I was proud of him for doing it though.
He couldn't wait for Aty to get there, so he could go on the more Tame rides. Jayson and Dax became instant riding buddies. They went on all the scary rides, while Tregan and I, took Aty to all the little rides. He did convince her to go on a few big ones though, too.
She always loves the Carousel

TEMPLE
The day before Lagoon day, we met my mom in Brigham, and went through the Temple Tour. I forgot to take pictures of my kids by the temple. The only one I took was this one of Aty, in her Booties! She thought they were pretty cool!
